We believe it is only through carefully reviewing a product’s formulary that we may ascertain its possible effectiveness.

X-treme V uses two potent sexuality enhancers – Yohimbe and Panax Ginseng Extract. Each of these extracts has a unique ability to augment different areas of sexuality, which is why they are often included in formulas that use a multi-level approach to sexuality. Yohimbe Bark Extract has been used worldwide to boost erectile functionality. The reason it is so effective is that it is an alkaloid monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor, which means that it may block adrenergic receptors. This mechanism dilates blood vessels in the body, but especially in the penis. In a review of a dozen scientific studies published in the Journal Archives of Sexual Behavior, Yohimbe was found to boost sexual performance and increase erection quality in terms of hardness and longevity.

Panax Ginseng Extract has a long history of being used in a variety of holistic medical systems to increase the male libido. This ability has been borne out by modern research, which shows that it stimulates the central nervous system. Andro was subsequently deemed a controlled substance in the U.S. by the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 2004.

We find it odd that Androstenedione is used in this supplement. We feel we can’t suggest using it due to its propensity for side effects, which includes acne, hair loss, facial hair growth in women, aggressiveness and irritability. Also, men have been known to develop enlarged breasts due to its ability to increase estrogen levels. However, its most concerning side effect may be that it has also been shown to potentially boost the risk of certain types of cancer.

We feel we may not suggest using X-treme V, due to the fact that it contains Androstenedione, which may have some really serious side effects, such as breast enlargement in men and an increased risk of cancer. In reality, we see little need to use Androstenedione when there are other potent, yet safe, extracts available.

For instance, Tribulus Terrestris is a potent testosterone booster, which studies show may increase sex drive, virility and libido. It increases testosterone by increasing luteinizing hormone, which lets the body know it should naturally increase testosterone production. It has been so effective that in clinical studies, it has been shown to increase sexual endurance by 75%, and libido and sexual performance by 80%.
