LipoDissolve Review Summary
------------------------------------------------------

LipoDissolve is advertised as an alternative to liposuction, though unlike liposuction, the FDA does not approve this procedure. While LipoDissolve has been practiced in Europe for sometime, it is relatively new to the United States. As its name suggests, this procedure is meant to dissolve fat. The basic process of this type of treatment involves injections of chemicals into localized areas, which is said to dissolve away fat. This type of treatment is under scrutiny from many doctors, and it has received mixed feedback from people who have received LipoDissolve shots. Nonetheless, we will take a closer look at it to see what interested consumers should expect.

Procedure at a Glance
------------------------------------------------------

As mentioned, LipoDissolve involves a series of medicated shots that are meant to “melt” away fat. Unlike liposuction, this process is just meant for small areas. Some of the areas of the body where these injections are focused include “saddlebags,” love handles and “muffin tops.” There is no standard ingredient list for the medication that is injected into the body, and many of the chemicals used are not FDA approved.

Procedure in Focus
------------------------------------------------------

These shots are said to actually dissolve fat. But the question is where does this liquid fat then go? There is fear that the liquid fat can end up in the liver and hinder its function and health, or that it can make its way into blood vessels where it could add to existing fat in the vessels and increase the risk of heart problems. In addition, there is also fear about the actual chemicals that are injected into the body. It is not know how far these chemicals may travel and if or how they will affect the organs.

Doctors strongly recommend that consumers interested in this service only go to a board certified plastic surgeon. Though, even then unwanted side effects may occur. Doctors report that after LipoDissolve shots they have seen infections, inflamed tissue, tissue death due to the chemicals and indentations and divets.

As mentioned, the consumer reviews for this procedure are mixed. Some consumers claim that LipoDissolve is effective, but there is also a high number that note this process is expensive, painful and ineffective. The most concerning reviews were ones from consumers that have said to experience extreme swelling and bruising after LipoDissolve injections.

Positives
------------------------------------------------------

•Said to dissolve fat

Negatives
------------------------------------------------------

•Not approved by the FDA
•May be quite expensive
•Not recommended by many plastic surgeons
•Procedure is still in experimental phases and it’s not yet known how it will affect the health of the body
• These products have garnered a lot of negative consumer commentary, which can be read on this popular LipoDissolve blog. If you are interested in more information, you can read another LipoDissolve review by Sensational.com.

•Some negative consumer reviews have been posted online

Final Thoughts
------------------------------------------------------

In the end, LipoDissolve may appear to be a quick fix that can make saddlebags and love handles disappear with a simple shot. Though, closer scrutiny of this procedure does raise some concerns, and we do want to note that many plastic surgeons do not recommend these injections due to their experimental status and known associated side effects. As mentioned, it is not yet known where the newly liquefied fat in the body will go, and how far the injected chemicals will travel or if they will hurt bodily functions.

Due to the negative reviews in which consumers discussed the pain involved with these injections, we’re sure some consumers will hesitate before considering this treatment. However, those consumers who do not mind the potential risks and the fact the LipoDissolve is not FDA approved may want to research treatment options in their area. Not surprisingly, this procedure is quite expensive and can cost thousands of dollars. A lot of times multiple procedures are necessary to receive optimal results, which will also increase overall price.
