Intamax for Natural Male Enhancement
July 2, 2010
Intamax Review Summary
------------------------------------------------------

Intamax is a male sexual enhancement product that is designed to “naturally help your body produce more semen, more sperm, increase fertility, increase erectile hardness and give you the most satisfying orgasm every time.” The product claims to increase serotonin levels, which apparently enables the user to “have normal sex urges, and determine in a logical manner if there is a threat present in your love and personal life.”

While this product’s approach is interesting, there appears to be quite a bit of compelling evidence that serotonin actually curtails sex drive. Consumers may already be aware of this based on their knowledge of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI), the class of antidepressants that includes Zoloft, Paxil and Prozac. It has been reported that diminished sex drive and difficulty achieving orgasm are among the most prominent side effects of these medications. We therefore have difficulty in understanding this product’s unorthodox approach. We will review this product for its ability to achieve better sex through serotonin.

Ingredients at a Glance
------------------------------------------------------

This formulation may contain some of the following ingredients: Salabmisri, Kokilaksha, Vanya Kahu, Kapikachchu, Suvarnavang, Vriddadaru, Gokshura, Jeevanti, Shaileyam and Sarpaghanda.

Ingredients in Focus
------------------------------------------------------

Although some of these ingredients are said to have sexual enhancement properties, it does not appear that there is any solid scientific evidence to support these claims. We would have preferred to see the use of some targeted, time-tested ingredients such as Yohimbe, Tribulus Terrestris, Damiana and Epimedium. These components are said to improve blood flow to the penis, stimulate sperm production, enhance the production of testosterone, and intensify arousal and orgasm. In addition, we are somewhat concerned about an advisory that was issued in the past few years regarding the purity of Ayurvedic supplement formulations. According to this warning, “A survey of such herbal remedies sourced from India and Pakistan found that one in five of them were contaminated with dangerous levels of heavy metals like lead, mercury and arsenic.” We must admit that this does not increase our overall confidence in this product.

Lifestyle
------------------------------------------------------

Another serious reservation we have arises from this product’s presupposition that serotonin has an advantageous effect on sex drive and performance. According to one expert, “Serotonin has an inhibitory effect on erectile function and sexuality.” This researcher added, “Serotonin is a sex-drive suppressant.” The brain neurotransmitter that most commonly boosts sex drive is dopamine. For this reason, we are puzzled as to why this product would deliberately seek to stimulate higher serotonin levels.

Positives
------------------------------------------------------

• Product claims to enhance logical thinking
• Claims to enhance orgasm

Negatives
------------------------------------------------------

• Serotonin is said to impair erectile function
• Serotonin reportedly diminishes sex drive
• Some Ayurvedic products may be at risk of containing heavy metals
• Product’s ingredients do not seem to be proven to work

Final Thoughts
------------------------------------------------------

It is our belief that this product may be well intended, but seems to take a rather illogical approach to sexual function and desire. Serotonin, which may be helpful in alleviating depression, is said to have various undesirable effects on male sexual function. This may, in turn, prompt a whole new wave of depression.

It is our belief that there are currently several excellent herbal sexual enhancement products currently available. These products address the complex, multifaceted phenomenon of sexual potency and pleasure. We have heard encouraging scientific data about the herbal ingredients Yohimbe, Tribulus Terrestris, Epimedium and Damiana. Rather than tampering with brain neurotransmitters, these ingredients improve direct blood flow to the penis and sex hormone production.
