Some of these herbs are extremely interesting, we will take a quick look at a few of them.

Mucuna Pruiens has been used in Ayurvedic Medicine for generations to treat Parkinson’s disease; it contains L-dopa, which is used to make dopamine in the body. Dopamine is also thought to have some effect on mood and sexuality, which is why it is sometimes used in male sexual fitness products. We believe more research needs to be performed on this herb to see if it is a viable male fitness herb.

We would have preferred to have seen this product use an herb which has is more focused on male sexual enhancement, such as Damiana, which is also called Turnera Aphrodisiaca. Herbs are traditionally delivered to the body via tea, capsule or tincture. It is unclear how a spray based technology influences the effectiveness of herbs in general. There was no research available regarding this matter.

The Horny Goat Weed Spray website was very information light – we would have liked to have seen more detailed research about how this new delivery system works. Even when using herbs that are proven effective in dealing with male sexual dysfunction, it is important to make sure that the method of inducing them into the body is effective, otherwise it is a waste of time and money.

In general, we believe this a very mild formula, which could have benefited from including more heavy duty herbs, which directly target male sexual dysfunction, such as Damiana, which we mentioned earlier has been used extensively in Holland to boost male libido, stamina and overall performance.

We also have concerns regarding the effectiveness of the sublingual spray based technology used by this product. We do not believe it has been adequately tested or proven to be a viable way to deliver herbs into the body. Clearly, further research needs to be conducted on this system. There are however proven products available on the market right now.
