Dapoxetine for Natural Male Enhancement

Dapoxetine Review Summary
------------------------------------------------------

As many of us probably know, there are many different ways to address sexual issues, such as erectile dysfunction. Some men choose to go the holistic route, using Yohimbe to aid them in naturally increasing the hardness, frequency, sensitivity and longevity of their erections; while others seek out assistance from their doctors, who often prescribe pharmaceutical grade medications. There are many choices in this arena, and many drugs are still pending approval.

In fact, the approval process for pharmaceutical grade medications is often long and arduous. No one knows this better than Johnson and Johnson, the developer of Dapoxetine - a new medication which has been denied approval many times. However, it is now set for release in Europe; although it may still not be granted approval in the U.S.

What it is
------------------------------------------------------

Dapoxetine is a short-acting SSRI drug, which was originally developed by Eli Lilly and Company; and biochemist David T. Wong is credited with being its creator. It was originally developed as an antidepressant, but it was sold to J & J, where it was seen as a potential treatment for premature ejaculation. It is currently up for approval as a method of treating this issue. If approved, it would be the first drug approved for premature ejaculation. However, it has been denied approval several times, and it remains unclear if it will be granted approval in the U.S., but it is geared to be released in Europe shortly.

Product in Focus
------------------------------------------------------

Dapoxetine belongs to a class of drugs called SSRI’s, which means “Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors”. This is actually a class of antidepressants, which have been used extensively to address depression, anxiety disorders and some personality disorders. The reason it is being looked at for premature ejaculation is that some studies suggest that men who have this issue have low Serotonin levels.

Dapoxetine has been shown to significantly increase Serotonin levels in individuals, which is part of the reason it was initially studied. The other part is that some studies have shown that SSRIs, in general, have a useful side effect – they may cause a delay of sexual climax in some individuals, which makes it an intriguing possibility for treatment of premature ejaculation.

Lifestyle
------------------------------------------------------

However, as intriguing as Dapoxetine appears to be, the approval process for it has been very hard. Some experts believe that this is due to the fact that long-term use of SSRIs may come along with some detrimental side effects, such as psychiatric problems, dermatological reactions, increased body weight, lower sex-drive, nausea, headache, upset stomach and weakness. In essence, the gains may not outweigh the side effects when it’s used for premature ejaculation.

Positives
------------------------------------------------------

•If approved, it will be the first drug approved specifically for premature ejaculation, but it has been denied approval many times

Negatives
------------------------------------------------------

•May have side effects, such as psychiatric problems, dermatological reactions, increase in body weight and lower sex-drive
•Has not been approved after many tries
• Their customers do not like them at all and have negative things to say about their experiences. Click here to read a popular Dapoxetine Blog.

Final Thoughts
------------------------------------------------------

Clearly, Dapoxetine is not yet available in the U.S., due to its uphill battle for approval. If and when it is approved, it will be the first drug specifically approved for the treatment of premature ejaculation. As recently as June 2007, J & J was still fighting for approval, so we will have to wait and see what happens in this ongoing battle.

However, some men have begun seeking out other avenues of addressing premature ejaculation, and some have turned to holistic supplements that contain Ginseng, which has been shown to directly affect erectile fatigue and boost sexual performance. In fact, a recent study used Ginseng in combination with other herbs, and it was shown to greatly improve sexual satisfaction in men with premature ejaculation. However, as with all holistic sexuality-boosting formulas, we suggest making sure they are teamed up with an effective and fasting-acting delivery system to maximize results.
