Alprox-TD is prescription grade pharmaceutical cream which is being developed by NexMed, Inc, for use in erectile dysfunction, such as impotence. However, Alprox-TD is not available in the United States yet, but it is available in many Asian markets. It is still going through clinical trials, in order to get approval for sale in the US and Europe. When it is released it will be the first cream used for erectile dysfunction.

In general, there are numerous primary physical and psychological causes of erectile dysfunction, for which these types of drugs are prescribed to help. They are usually prescribed to men, who have chronic conditions, for which, Alprox has shown good results in clinical trials.

Alprox-TD’s formula contains, alprostadil, which has been publicized as a good source of medically induced erections, through injections and suppositories. It has not been used in a cream based formula before.

Alprostadil is an active ingredient in Alprox-TD, which is the same in chemical composition to the naturally occurring compound in human physiology - prostaglandin E1. In general, Alprostadil helps to arouse an erection through a comprehensive chain of chemical actions. Alprostadil allows an increased amount of blood to flow to the penis and then to remain there, effectively creating an erection.

Alprox-TD when available to the US market will be of great benefit to men with this issue, because it is a cream, which may be directly applied to the penis. Currently products containing Alprostadil must be injected or put into the urethra through a suppository system, which can be painful and problematic.

Alprox-TD is not currently available in the US prescription market by its manufacturer NexMed, Inc. It is however, available online through other sources. We find this very scary because this is not a natural supplement, but clearly a prescription grade pharmaceutical, which is to be prescribed by a Doctor.

We think it is important to know where prescription medication it is coming from and what exactly is in it. When it is ordered over the internet from other countries, you really don’t know what you are getting in terms of ingredients and quality.

Even though Alprox-TD is not available through legitimate means in the US, as of yet, there are other naturally based alternatives, which may be of help for sexual dysfunction issues, in less chronic cases. We believe that the chemical processes involved in increasing blood flow into the penis and keeping it there, may be similar to the effect Yohimbe Extract has, in terms of increased blood flow to the penis.

Alprox-TD may be a good addition to the pharmaceutical tool box for individuals suffering from erectile dysfunction, if it were available on the US market. Alprox-TD is cream based, which makes it unique in terms of drugs prescribed for this issue. It is not currently available from the manufacturer, and we can not, and do not, recommend that anyone get this product through distributors based in other countries, due to safety concerns.

Currently, other prescription medications containing Alprostadil, are available, but they must be injected or use a suppository delivery method directly into the penis. In the mean time, for those with less severe conditions, who are interested in a natural approach, there are many viable holistic products available.
